SHOULD YOU BUY DJI OSMO POCKET?

Welcome to the topic “DJI OSMO POCKET Review”

DJI’s OSMO Pocket is a good camera for vloggers. You can effortlessly shoot 4K videos with the help of this pocket-sized all-in-one camera. The footage is kept steady by a three-axis gimbal. The Osmo Pocket’s built-in stabilizer makes you look more skilled as it shoots professional-looking videos.

Youtube videos:

The OSMO Pocket’s specs obviously show that it is quite suitable for youtube videos. It has more advanced functions like motion-lapses and time-lapses. Vloggers take several shots and spend a whole lot of time editing them. But the Osmo Pocket will save you from that.

Easy to use:

The OSMO Pocket has a button on the right that turns it on. You can select different shooting modes like photos, slow-mo, video, time-lapses, pano on the touchscreen. You can also access settings like slow follow, fast follow, FPV or re-center the camera and review files. The second button on the left, with the red dot, starts recording or shoots pictures.

You can offload your videos or pictures to your PC with a USB-C cable. But there is another option too. You can directly export your videos or pictures with the DJI Mimo app.

You can get a larger view:

The OSMO Pocket aspires to be an all-in-one vlogging camera. But its one-inch screen becomes a problem sometimes. However, you can connect it with your smartphone to get a larger view of your footage. There are two ways for that:

  1. Connect it with a small adoption.
  2. Shoot with the DJI Mimo app.

The smartphone attachment is really tiny and can be misplaced. Also, attaching a phone makes it difficult to shoot.

Shooting stills:

The images look mostly the same as the ones you take to form your smartphones. The F2 lens and 1/2.3” CMOS are quite common in smartphones. When shooting stills, if the object moves too fast, the image blurs sometimes.

Videos shooting:

The best thing about the OSMO Pocket is that it shoots stabilized HD videos. It can also switch between 30fps and 60fps. However, its audio quality is not that good. You can also shoot in slow motion as the OSMO Pocket captures at 120 fps. While shooting a video, you can also choose objects to track their motion. Even if you are walking or running the gimbal ensures that the footages are kept smooth.

What I like:

  • Impressive gimbal stabilization.
  • Great motion time-lapses.
  • Easy to use and portable.
  • 4K video capturing capability.

What I do not like:

  • Audio quality is not that good.
  • Difficult to shoot without a smartphone.
  • The screen is really tiny.

DJI OSMO Pocket might not be the best but it is surprisingly good for capturing quality videos. Its built-in stabilization is what makes it amazing. It is also a good option for beginners who are interested in videography.
